Ugliest Dog

Friday: Up around 8:30, a little later than I had planned (perhaps MB shut off the alarm before it woke me, or perhaps I did... Both have happened before.) MB headed out. Spent a little time responding to an email about a potential future collaboration. Shower. Down basement, and just a brief sitting and bare-bones morning practice. On my way, at 10:45.

Arrived at Jun's a few minutes late. He was playing a lovely piece, which he later told me was Bach. I stood and listened to until he reached the end. An interesting session today. We talked about meditation, and Jun tried to show me how to balance an egg on its end, and gave me some insight into his piano technique. We looked a bit at Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time," and some jazz theory. He set me up with some stuff to work on while he is gone for the next month.

Had my traditional after-Jun, energy drink and pizza, then headed to work. Spent a long time looking into a bug in my new code, which was ultimately remedied by adding two characters: '++'. Also consulted with Alx about a bug which he thought he had solved (pointed out a flaw in his fix: cached data might be discontiguous), with Dnl about a bug he was having (resetting the state of one object, without resetting the state of another object it depended upon), and with B and Cs about some menu bugs I had previously fixed. In email, MB and I laughed at the 'ugliest dogs' contest. Took a walk out, deposited a check, got another caffeinated beverage, and just enjoyed myself walking in the sunshine around Harvard Square. Design work to round out the day. Worked late, heading home around 10.

Back home, MB was still out. Brushed the cat's teeth. Down basement for transplanted morning practices. MB returned when I was about half way in. I came upstairs to say hi. We talked about plans for the weekend and beyond. Ate some free ice-cream she'd been given. Decided not to get a movie. Back down basement for the completion of my morning practices. Soon bed.
