cousin and friends

Thursday: Woke around 8:30 as MB headed out. A little web, then shower. Down basement and morning practices. Sorted through a pile of receipts and statements. Breakfast. Terrible news out of London. Guitar, looking at one of Jun's exercises, and right hand work (some progress). Looked at my DAT deck, which was making unhealthy sounds. Tried to lubricate it, but made matters worse. Decided it would be a hard-drive recording session (was to go to Lowell with MB and friends and record the band at the Athenian Corner.)

Drive to work was uneventful. Some consulting with Dnl, research, design, and a little coding. We did manage to ship today. Amazing how instantaneous it is now, versus a few years back. Call from MB letting me know that plans had changed. This was unfortunate, since I had canceled my rehearsal with Shawn to be with them.

A little before 7, I walked down to the T stop, and met MB. Her friends (a cousin and comrades) were going to be late. I suffered a moment of self righteous indignation, which quickly passed. They arrived before too long, and we decided to go to John Harvard's for dinner (they didn't seem like the most culinarily adventurous bunch.) Enjoyable conversation, though I was monitoring myself, least I offend their Southern/Christen sensibilities. We all took a walk around H Sq, and down by the Charles. MB wasn't wearing the best shoes for the venture, but she managed. Photos. I left them off where we began, and pointed them in the direction of a tea house.

Back to the office for a little while, and some coding. Having a hard time concentrating. Back home, some guitar. MB returned having seen the friends off. Put out garbage. A cup of tea.
