Saturday: Slept in a bit. MB expressed some concerns to me, that pushed me into a dark place. Eventually down basement for morning practice. Tny had already gone out. Dropped a picture, and in trying to retrieve it broke something. I saw this coming, but why didn't I avert it? Not terribly auspicious, as they say. Let go of that, and got on with it. Upstairs a little after 1. Some Spanikopita and toast for breakfast. MB returned. Made coffee, but probably shouldn't have, as I didn't really have time for it.
Sped to KKC around 1:50. All the lights seemed against me. Arrived just in time at 2. Had decided to attend this event, despite misgivings. Then, gremlins in the sound system, and the misgivings returned. I did my best to stomp down the gremlins, and then made an exit, feeling flushed and shaken. Drove away, wondering if I had done the right thing.
Found MB walking down the sidewalk towards Union. We drove back home, and then walked together over the Somerville Hill. A sunny cold day. She had some errands to attend to, so I left her, and walked back. Some email, and morning practices part 2. When I came up from that, I decided to pay bills. Pulled them together, and to the upstairs office.
Took a walk up the street, dropping the bills in the post. Deposited pay and a random collection of small checks at the bank. To the video store and picked up a couple more episodes of Twin Peaks. Talked to Wnd on the cell about the event I had not attended.
Back home, MB had cooked some veggie burgers and french fries. A fire truck pulled up outside, then a police car and an ambulance. A neighbor across the street with a long history of physical problems, had apparently taken a turn for the worse. We ate our dinner, flashing lights in the windows. I had not gotten the right episodes of Twin Peaks, so I drove back to the video store, past the ambulance. Someone is having a medical emergency, and I'm worried about my entertainment. Swapped the tape. Back home, the rescue vehicles were all gone, and the street was quiet. You'd never know anything had just happened. I found this strangely spooky.
We enjoyed the videos, then spent the rest of the night hanging out. Some good and needed conversations. SNL. Something about flipping a cashew off a lighthouse. I made a bit more food.
