Saturday: Up around 9:30. Shower and down basement for brief morning practices. Then over to KKC.
Elderhostel. I drove with Jf to Davis. Enjoyable conversation: cosmologies. To Martsa on Elm, and picked up a large quantity of Tibetan food. Back to KKC. Unloaded food, got a rundown of what needed doing. I ran and got a fresh box of coffee from the donut shop. Lunch. Chatting with folks. Sat next to Bn and talked about his plans. Helped clean up a bit, then headed off.
Stopped at the Christmas Tree Shops, but found that they didn't have any Christmas Tree Stands. Or anything else I needed. K-Mart to the rescue. And bought a Christmas Tree, the proceeds going to Somerville Schools. It fit in my trunk better than I thought it would.
Back home, set up the tree with MB while listening to Dane Cook. Vacuumed out the back of my car. Fixed the lights on the front of the house, and re-hung the wreath (which I believe was upside down). Are we having Christmasy fun yet? OK!
Drove out with MB, dropping off a DVD at the store, filling up the tank (gave a fellow directions to Medford Street) and dropping a check off at Martsa on Elm. Got some cash from the ATM, and had a snack at the new little coffee shop next to the restaurant. Seems to be run by the same family. I got a spinach fritter sort of thing and a coffee. MB got a Tibetan butter tea and a cookie.
Back home. Email. Guitar. MB got dressed up and headed off to a BD gig. Down basement for daily practices part 2. MB returned, as the restaurant where she was supposed to perform, was closed. I made us some food while she changed: microwaved potatoes, leftover Indian food (spinach and potatoes) from my party (which had been frozen), and a quicky Indian dish: frozen mixed vegetables with instant curry powder, cream, chopped nuts and raisins. We watched a couple of episodes of Twin Peaks. Also had some tea. Watched a little bit of SNL. My primary experience of watching Shakira involved wondering whether she was lip-syncing or not. Regardless, this points to a sad state of affairs in "live" music.
