RPT's Drywall

Saturday: Up around 11, the phone ringing. Didn't get it. Thought about getting some more sleep. Decided to make breakfast instead. Brought it up to the ailing wife. I wanted her to stay in bed, but she was up, doing laundry, watering plants and the like. Shower. Cats. Clean up. Down basement. Had a long conversation with MB's parents, who just got back from Hawaii. Took photos of my old laptop to be put up for sale, employing MB as a "hand model." A phone call to R&L and making some plans. Played guitar with MB: Third Relation and Eye of the Needle. Working slow on the 13s of EotN was productive. Then working on my own playing a faster piece, I noticed a certain crispness had been developed from the previous exercise. A bit after 5 I printed out some directions and headed out. Stopped for a veggie burger, then drove to RPT's house in Andover. He's building a studio about his garage. Helped him hang a piece of drywall on the ceiling. This took an hour. He's being very methodical. He said something very nice about my wedding day, and also said something encouraging about a period of my life that I've at times felt slightly embarrassed about. Left around 7:45. Back to Somerville and did some shopping. Also picked up some DVDs and Chinese food. At home, ate the yummies with MB (hot and sour soup, spinach dumplings, tofu with mixed vegetables). Watched a bit of "Heart of Gold" and then "Match Point." In "Heart of Gold", just before Neil goes on stage, he says something like "I'm just hoping to play well, let the muse come through, put it out there, take a shot." Soon down basement.
