Art Beat gig/Mike's Party

Saturday: Up around 10, and a mellow morning, just washing breakfast dishes when Alex L arrived at the front door. He, MB and I did some warming up. I pulled equipment together and headed out.

Arrived at Davis Square and found Victor. I set up the mats that MB would dance on, then he and I started running cables and setting up stools. The rest of the gang arrived, sans Martin. Couldn't really sound-check, because doing so would have disrupted the acapella group that was performing before us. Martin showed up just before we went on. I had the sense that if we could have gotten on a little faster we would have held onto more of the audience from the previous act. An interesting set, with MB's dance for punctuation. I had a brain freeze in the beginning of Chrysanthemum. Quite hot out.

After our performance, loaded the car, spent a couple minutes with the gang working out details of the immediate future. MB and I got some Indian food with our volunteer coupons, and ate sitting at a table in the middle of the square. Lots of fun artsy stuff going on. Victor Jane and Bridge wandered by.

MB had some other stuff she wanted to do. I headed home. Unloaded the car. Did some work on the KKC website. Down basement for practices. Later on, and interesting and unique evening with MB.
