guitars coming and going/photos

Monday: MB woke me up on her way out to the dance studio. Brief sitting. Fed the cats. I spent some more time in bed, then drove to Kurukulla to fill water bowls. No one around, but they were empty, so things went quickly. Back home and vacuumed. MB returned, and we had a brunch sort of situation with eggs and Spanikopita.

Upstairs, we looked at the photos the cat photographer had taken. Then, I pulled out a bunch of pictures I've been meaning to scrapbook at some point. MB hadn't seen College Era Glenn before. Also looked at old photos of my dad as a child, his brothers, and my grandfather and grandmother. My dad was born in 1917... so, its pretty antique stuff.

Played guitar for a good long while, mostly electric, faintly amplified. There's this odd meter pattern in "The Ides" that I find nearly impossible to tap my foot along with (44 16th notes, grouped 4 + 9 + 9, 4 + 9 + 9, accent picking.) Progress on the upside down part of Chrysanthemum.

Took measurements of a couple of necks that work well for me for the custom guitar I'm having built (a Washburn electric, and a Larrivee jumbo acoustic). Also measured the Ovation as an example of a neck that is a little too fat. Took a bunch of photos of the Larrivee and put it up for sale on ebay. It's a lovely guitar, but I need a cut-away.

MB returned from the dance lessons she was giving. I talked to her mom (it was her mom's birthday), then made a burrito sort of thing, which I ate while MB and I watched another ultra-squirm-inducing episode of The Office. Hung around a bit, then down basement for daily practices.
