on top of a ladder, and carrying paint, take care with your balance, and try not to faint

Saturday:
Up around 8, but in and out of sleep. Nice morning with the wife. She made me a bowl of cereal while I was showering. I ate, then down basement for a brief sitting. Bn showed up around 10:30, and I loaded the PA into MB's car and gave them a ride to Union. When we got there, I helped set the PA up, as a fellow sang "Puff the Magic Dragon" and "On Top of Spaghetti" whilst accompanying himself on guitar. Back home for morning practices, then back to Union to pick up MB and Bn.

I played a bit of guitar, while MB was upstairs taking a nap. I replaced the shower curtain liner. We took a drive out, stopping to buy some painting supplies, then to pick up our new cell-phones at the FedEx depot. (A fellow from yoga class showed up just as we were leaving). We also bought groceries at the supermarket. A woman asked us directions, but, because of Somerville's whacky roads, it was too difficult to tell her how to proceed.

MB and I had some lunch: tomato, basil and mozzarella, with baguette. I joked that I'd made it Nouvel Cuisine by putting a small dollop of hummus in the center of each of our plates. A little more guitar.

I headed outside to do some house repairs. Painted over the caulk with tinted primer on the north south and west sides of the house. Cleaned some of the gutters. Shimmed the gutter along the west side to make it have less of a bow in the center. Repaired the edge of the roof along the north side of the house, where I feared water could get into the wall. (Used a bit of flashing, some roofing nails and roofing cement.) Cut a piece of dangling TV cable that was sticking out from a high window on the front of the house. MB helped hold the ladder when I was up high. Didn't want a repeat of my near disaster with the roof over the bay window. Kra, the little girl from next door, was out and about, and seemed interested to watch me going up and down the ladder. She said she was giving a thank you note to someone who had given her Elephant Slippers. And I didn't know that elephants wore slippers... MB showed her a cherry tomato plant in front and said she could have the tomatoes.

Cleaned up. There were lots of nails and screws in the gutters. Where do these come from? MB headed out to a belly dance gig. Took a shower, ate a snack and relaxed for a bit. Email. More guitar. Sitting. Mellow evening. MB should be home around 1 AM.
