Friday: Up around 9:30. Sitting in bed. Web. Shower. Cats. Had a nice breakfast of eggs and coffee. We're doing well at using up the last bits of perishable food before the trip. A good guitar session, working on playing without concern for playing bum notes... as if I were performing. I should spend more time working on this. Completed the mushroom kit, putting the earth in the compost bin. Did a little work on the lawn, spreading seed and fertilizer. Hooked up the watering system. More last minute things for the trip. Sent some strings and my final payment to my luthier. Mailed a box of goodies to the retreat facility in Atlanta, avoiding carrying too much to Mendoza. Quite a nice day out.
Remembered I forgot to get my coins, so stopped back at the house for them. Took these to a bank in H Sq, and turned them into paper money. Got a coffee at Starbucks... A deliciously evil concoction: a medium coffee with a shot of espresso. In at work, dealing with assembler issues, and then link problems. Exp files are not working correctly in XCode. Got my subsystem building and linking before I left, around 8 PM. Folks had gone out to raise the wrist in honor of the new version shipping.
Back home, and down basement for practices. MB returned. When I came up, we made some food (leftover noodles, instant soup, toast). Then to packing. Printing out important information. Last minute emails and phone calls. Around midnight we ate some apple crisp and ice-cream. Talking about plate tectonics, the industrialization of agriculture as the basis of modern prosperity, Italy's Berlusconi, the history of warfare in the twentieth century, and so on.
I watched the last half hour of "A History of Violence." A really wonderful movie... but quite violent. In a good way. Watched a bit of the commentary, and the making of a deleted scene... Then dropped the DVDs back at their home. Hopefully a bit of sleep will occur, sometime soon.
