Frith and MB's car breaks down

Thursday: Woke a bit after 10. Downstairs and breakfast (cereal smoothie). Watched some Lost. Down basement and morning practices. Drums. Shower. Laundry (finding some towels that had been abandoned in the washer). Headed out, slightly warmer today, and still nice and sunny.
At the office, finding and squashing bugs. Many had been already squashed, so punting the reports back to the authors. B and J were discussing hardware plans. Slice of pizza. Richard called. Good to talk to him: planning the next course. Met Shawn at 7, and took the number 1 bus into Boston. Jordan Hall, a lovely old room, with gilt trim and a large pipe organ in the back. The music of Fred Frith. The first three pieces were all tightly composed, for small ensemble. After an intermission Frith performed a solo for prepared electric guitar, which then bled into several larger group pieces. A good retrospective of his work. The student players seemed quite excited (some of them confused) to be on stage, playing this material. We also saw our friend Olivia (Cth's house-mate) and "Mr Curt."
Took the bus back. MB had left me a message saying her car had broken down on 93. Called her, and all was OK. Gave Shawn a ride back to his place. MB called just as I arrived home saying she was at the mechanics. Picked her up. Leftover pasta, and talking about future plans. Down basement, for guitar and to complete the day.
